{"id":3360,"date":"2022-10-06T13:18:31","date_gmt":"2022-10-06T13:18:31","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/projectmasam.com\/v2\/?p=3360"},"modified":"2022-10-06T13:18:31","modified_gmt":"2022-10-06T13:18:31","slug":"masam-honoured-to-receive-award-in-egypt-for-its-humanitarian-landmine-clearance-work-in-yemen","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.projectmasam.com\/eng\/masam-honoured-to-receive-award-in-egypt-for-its-humanitarian-landmine-clearance-work-in-yemen\/","title":{"rendered":"Masam honoured to receive award in Egypt for its humanitarian landmine clearance work in Yemen"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>A number of Arab studies and research centers in Cairo have recently honoured Project Masam with awards for its humanitarian role in saving lives of millions of Yemenis with its landmine clearance work in Yemen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Held in the Egyptian capital, the awards ceremony was conducted by Sherif Abdel Hamid, head of the Gulf Center for Iranian Studies in Egypt, Muhammad Al-Wales Bahih, President of the Red Sea Center for Political and Security Studies in Yemen and Adel Al-Ahmadi, head of the Nashwan Center for Studies and Media in Yemen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In a speech, Hamid said: \u201cWe are following in Egypt with satisfaction and happiness the ongoing successes made by the Masam project to <a href=\"https:\/\/projectmasam.com\/v2\/en\/2022\/08\/30\/walking-daily-between-life-and-death-living-in-one-of-yemens-most-landmine-contaminated-areas\/\">save Yemeni lives<\/a>&#8220;.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Al-Wales Bahih, saluted the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia&#8217;s direct support provided to Project Masam while Al-Ahmadi welcomed the support for Yemen\u2019s reconstruction programmes along with support provided for the Yemeni government.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe know very well and are confident that the KSA still has a lot of support for Yemen in all spheres and the next actions will prove that sincere Arab brotherhood,&#8221; five foreign experts and 28 Yemeni nationals &#8211; and 42 wounded deminers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to official information, statistics, and reports of regional and international human rights organisations, Yemen still has more than <a href=\"https:\/\/projectmasam.com\/v2\/en\/2022\/03\/14\/yemen-scale-of-landmine-planting-is-stretching-demining-teams-thin-says-yemac\/\">one and a half million landmines planted Houthi militias<\/a> in all regions across Yemen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>So far, Project Masam has cleared <a href=\"https:\/\/projectmasam.com\/v2\/en\/2022\/10\/02\/masam-clears-354857-landmines-and-explosive-threats-in-yemen\/\">360,573 explosive devices in Yemeni liberated areas<\/a>, including 5,672 anti-personnel mines, 132,637 anti-tank mines, 7,486 improvised explosive devices and 214,778 unexploded ordnance neutralised over 38,961 431sqm of land since mid-2018.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"779\" height=\"728\" src=\"https:\/\/www.projectmasam.com\/eng\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/WhatsApp-Image-2022-10-06-at-12.24.49-AM-1-1.jpeg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-3365\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.projectmasam.com\/eng\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/WhatsApp-Image-2022-10-06-at-12.24.49-AM-1-1.jpeg 779w, https:\/\/www.projectmasam.com\/eng\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/WhatsApp-Image-2022-10-06-at-12.24.49-AM-1-1-300x280.jpeg 300w, https:\/\/www.projectmasam.com\/eng\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/WhatsApp-Image-2022-10-06-at-12.24.49-AM-1-1-768x718.jpeg 768w, https:\/\/www.projectmasam.com\/eng\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/WhatsApp-Image-2022-10-06-at-12.24.49-AM-1-1-500x467.jpeg 500w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 779px) 100vw, 779px\" \/><\/figure>\n<\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A number of Arab studies and research centers in Cairo have recently honoured Project Masam with awards for its humanitarian role in saving lives of millions of Yemenis with its landmine clearance work in Yemen.
