Many of these items remain buried or concealed in farmland, roadsides, and residential areas, posing long-term dangers to civilians.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1337\" data-end=\"1509\">Operations continued alongside refresher training activities for some teams, while others remained deployed to respond to urgent threats and carry out clearance operations.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1511\" data-end=\"1810\">Since the project began operations in mid-2018, Project Masam teams have cleared <a href=\"https:\/\/www.projectmasam.com\/eng\/project-masam-clears-552420-landmines-and-explosive-threats-in-yemen\/\">552,420 explosive threats<\/a> across Yemen and made 78,217,892 square metres of land safe, enabling displaced families to return, farmers to access their land, and humanitarian organisations to operate more safely.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1812\" data-end=\"2066\">Despite difficult terrain, security constraints, and shifting environmental conditions such as sand movement and flooding, Project Masam continues to carry out systematic clearance operations in line with international humanitarian mine action standards.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Project Masam demining teams have cleared 1,231 landmines and explosive remnants of war across Yemen during the first week of April 2026, continuing efforts to reduce explosive threats and protect civilians in contaminated areas.
