{"id":22644,"date":"2025-10-31T09:35:42","date_gmt":"2025-10-31T09:35:42","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.projectmasam.com\/eng\/?p=22644"},"modified":"2025-10-31T09:37:09","modified_gmt":"2025-10-31T09:37:09","slug":"project-masam-team-38-secures-minefield-in-yemens-hajjah","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.projectmasam.com\/eng\/project-masam-team-38-secures-minefield-in-yemens-hajjah\/","title":{"rendered":"Project Masam Team 38 secures minefield in Yemen&#8217;s Hajjah"},"content":{"rendered":"<p data-start=\"222\" data-end=\"486\">Project Masam&#8217;s Team 38 has cleared an anti-tank minefield following a civilian report west of Al-Makhzen village in the Midi District of northern <a href=\"https:\/\/www.projectmasam.com\/eng\/un-warns-of-worsening-hunger-in-yemen-as-project-masam-expands-operations-to-hajja\/\">Hajjah<\/a> Governorate.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"488\" data-end=\"694\">According to team leader Engineer Saif Al-Mashmari, the team immediately moved to the site after receiving the report from Hassan Bilal, who had discovered the mines hile grazing livestock near a populated area.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"696\" data-end=\"832\">The team conducted a technical survey of the site and successfully neutralised several landmines &#8211; ensuring the safety of nearby residents.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"834\" data-end=\"1055\">Al-Mashmari urges residents to stay away from areas suspected of mine contamination until clearance operations are fully completed, stressing that these explosives pose a serious threat to civilians and their livestock.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1057\" data-end=\"1303\">In addition, Team 38 carried out an explosive ordnance risk education (EORE) awareness campaign for the residents of Al-Makhzen village to educate them about the dangers of landmines and unexploded ordnance, and how to report any suspicious objects to help protect their community.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1057\" data-end=\"1303\">Hajjah Governorate, located in northwestern Yemen near the Saudi border, has been heavily affected by years of conflict.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1057\" data-end=\"1303\">Intense fighting and shifting frontlines have left large areas contaminated with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.projectmasam.com\/eng\/project-masam-team-38-clears-banned-anti-personnel-mines-in-midi-in-yemens-hajjah\/\">Houthi landmines<\/a> and unexploded ordnance.
