Project Masam’s Team 35 has successfully cleared four anti-personnel mines and unexploded ordnance during clearance operations near the electricity distribution building, east of the Midi district in Yemen’s Hajjah<\/a> Governorate.<\/p>\n

Midi district, located on Yemen\u2019s Red Sea coast, has seen extensive contamination with landmines and explosive devices, heavily affecting infrastructure and preventing civilians from returning safely to their homes and livelihoods.<\/p>\n

This latest clearance operation is part of Project Masam\u2019s ongoing mission to protect civilians from the dangers of landmines and explosive remnants of war.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe team recovered four anti-personnel mines and unexploded ordnance from the area around the electricity distribution building, as part of our humanitarian [landmine clearance] efforts to clear locations contaminated by mines and explosive devices planted by the Houthi militia to disrupt civilian life and property,\u201d said Eng. Mohammed Mansour, Leader of Team 35, in a statement.<\/p>\n

He added: \u201cThe team continues clearance operations to complete work in all affected areas, enabling civilians to return safely to their homes and agricultural lands, and to resume their daily lives free from fear.\u201d<\/p>\n

Project Masam\u2019s clearance work extends beyond homes and farms to include roads, water sources, electricity facilities, development projects such as solar energy sites, and vital public service centres including schools and security headquarters. These efforts not only safeguard civilian life but also contribute directly to Yemen\u2019s development and redevelopment, supporting post-conflict recovery and stability.<\/p>\n

To date, Project Masam\u2019s operations have cleared millions of square meters of contaminated land across Yemen, helping restore life and hope to communities that have long faced the threat of mines and unexploded ordnance. The project continues its humanitarian work across several governorates, committed to ensuring a safe return to normal civilian life.<\/p>\n\n\t\t\t
