Project Masam has announced it has located and destroyed 482,637 explosive devices in Yemeni liberated areas.<\/p>\n
These include 6,731 anti-personnel mines, 146,134 anti-tank mines, 321,576 unexploded ordnance (UXO) and 8,196 improvised explosive devices (IEDs) cleared over 65,428,975 square metres of land since mid-2018.<\/p>\n
Since the conflict between Yemen\u2019s pro-government forces and Houthi militias escalated in 2014, liberated\u00a0strategic areas<\/a>\u00a0have been left littered with\u00a0Houthi anti-personnel mines<\/a>\u00a0and anti-tank mines, along with unexploded remnants of war.<\/p>\n Last week (15 February 2025 \u2013 21 February 2025) alone, Project Masam deminers removed 861 deadly items, including five anti-personnel mines, 44 anti-tank mines, 810 UXO, and two IEDs, according to Project Masam Managing Director Ousama Algosaibi.
