Project Masam has announced it has located and destroyed 481,776 explosive devices in Yemeni liberated areas.<\/p>\n
These include 6,726 anti-personnel mines, 146,090 anti-tank mines, 320,766 unexploded ordnance (UXO) and 8,194 improvised explosive devices (IEDs) cleared over 65,168,777 square metres of land since mid-2018.<\/p>\n
Since the conflict between Yemen\u2019s pro-government forces and Houthi militias escalated in 2014, liberated\u00a0strategic areas<\/a>\u00a0have been left littered with\u00a0Houthi anti-personnel mines<\/a>\u00a0and anti-tank mines, along with unexploded remnants of war.<\/p>\n Last week (8 February 2025 \u2013 14 February 2025) alone, Project Masam deminers removed 536 deadly items, including nine anti-personnel mines, 48 anti-tank mines, 478 UXO, and one IED, according to Project Masam Managing Director Ousama Algosaibi.
