Fighting IED and landmines swept away by Floods<\/strong><\/p>\nToday, Project Masam’s demining team 9 began in the district of Bayhan clearing the flood watercourses, where it removed an anti-tank landmine. The team is continuing its task to secure the area.<\/p>\n
Project Masam has warned civilians across Yemen, including the districts of Bayhan in Shabwah, Harib in Marib province, and Numan in Al-Bayda region, of the danger of mines and ordnances that may be washed away by floods from contaminated areas to populated and agricultural areas in these districts.<\/p>\n
Project Masam called on farmers and shepherds in valleys, farms, and deserts, especially in seam areas, which are heavily planted with mines, to beware of all foreign objects that may have been washed up by torrential rains.<\/p>\n
The landmine clearance project appealed to civilians to immediately report any foreign object suspected of being a mine or explosive device to the competent authorities and not to approach valleys and mountains that may be contaminated with mines.<\/p>\n\n\t\t\t
