Project Masam has announced it has located and destroyed 423,794 explosive devices in Yemeni liberated areas.<\/p>\n
These include 6,421 anti-personnel mines, 142,113 anti-tank mines, 267,340 unexploded ordnance (UXO) and 7,920 improvised explosive devices (IEDs) neutralised over 52,044,019 square metres of land since mid-2018.<\/p>\n
Since the conflict between Yemen\u2019s pro-government forces and Houthi militias escalated in 2014, liberated\u00a0strategic areas<\/a>\u00a0have been left littered with\u00a0Houthi anti-personnel mines<\/a>\u00a0and anti-tank mines, along with unexploded remnants of war.<\/p>\n Last week (25 November \u2013 1 December 2023) alone, Project Masam deminers removed 758 deadly items, including 22 anti-personnel mines, 115 anti-tank mines, and 600 UXO, according to Project Masam Managing Director Ousama Algosaibi.
