Project Masam’s Team 10 is continuing to clear a second anti-personnel minefield in the Jandalah area of Osilan district in Yemen’s Shabwah governorate.<\/p>\n

In two months of continuous work, the team was able to secure 20% of the field’s 120,000 sqm.<\/p>\n

Team 10’s team leader confirmed that the demining team succeeded in clearing and destroying a number of internationally banned anti-personnel mines and improvised explosive devices (IEDs), and that the team will continue its work to secure the entire area from the anti-personnel mines.<\/p>\n

“This ongoing work aims to restore safety and calm in the area and protect the lives of civilians,” the leader of the team said.<\/p>\n

Given the danger of operating in anti-personnel minefields, Team 10’s deminers must exercise extreme caution and high precision to avoid any accidents.<\/p>\n

Shabwah Governorate is one of Yemen’s most landmine-affected regions, with many anti-personnel minefields that continue to pose a constant threat to the safety of the local population.<\/p>\n
