{"id":19723,"date":"2023-05-13T07:21:10","date_gmt":"2023-05-13T07:21:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.projectmasam.com\/eng\/?p=19723"},"modified":"2023-05-15T07:21:53","modified_gmt":"2023-05-15T07:21:53","slug":"masam-brings-life-back-to-wadi-dhama-in-yemens-taiz","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.projectmasam.com\/eng\/masam-brings-life-back-to-wadi-dhama-in-yemens-taiz\/","title":{"rendered":"Masam brings life back to Wadi Dhama in Yemen&#8217;s Taiz"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>Masam&#8217;s Team 25 has brought life back to civilians&#8217; farms in Wadi Dhama, Maqbanah district, in Yemen&#8217;s Taiz governorate, after removing more than 30 anti-tank mines.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>In a statement, the deputy leader of Team 25 confirmed that the landmines that were removed were washed away by torrential rains from the militia-controlled areas to civilian areas that had previously been secured by Masam teams, at the bottom of Wadi Dhama, posing a threat to the lives of farmers and shepherds in the area.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>The deminer added that Masam Team 25 succeeded in removing more than 30 anti-tank mines from Wadi Dhama and civilians\u2019 farms, noting that these included three dangerous landmines that had to be destroyed in situ by Masam&#8217;s Special Task Force because they were too dangerous to remove and transport safely to Masam&#8217;s destruction site.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>Adel Bagash, Sheikh of As-Sweihra, said civilians in Wadi Dhama rely mainly on agriculture as a basic source of living to support their families, but mines washed away by floods on their farms prevented them from entering or re-plowing their farms.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>Sheikh Bagash highlighted the fact that Masam intervened in Wadi Dhama and removed mines from the valley and farms so that farmers could return to their farms and cultivate them.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>The local chief thanked Project Masam for its efforts in Wadi Dhama, wishing the project to continue working and clearing all areas in Wadi Dhama.<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Masam&#8217;s Team 25 has brought life back to civilians&#8217; farms in Wadi Dhama, Maqbanah district, in Yemen&#8217;s Taiz governorate, after removing more than 30 anti-tank mines.
