The Undersecretary for Defense and Security Affairs of Taiz Governorate, Major General Abdul Karim Al-Sabri, has said that\u00a0Taiz governorate has suffered a lot from the indiscriminating planting of mines, which continues to bring tragedies and painful losses for Yemenis.<\/p>\n

Al-Sabri indicated also that the militias spared no effort in planting mines of all sizes and forms in the various areas under their control, leaving a huge legacy of tragedies for Yemenis.<\/div>\n

Al-Sabri claimed that mines have been planted in the various regions and governorates of Yemen, whether they were in Mawza, Bab al-Mandab, al-Khawkhah, the western coast, Taiz, or Jabal al-Habashi, with the aim of targeting the largest number of victims.<\/div>\n

The undersecretary stated that Project Masam has played and is still playing a major role in securing many districts and governorates from landmines and educating people about the need to be aware of potentially deadly explosive devices, and suspicious and camouflaged objects.<\/div>\n

According to Al-Sabri, Masam has left a ‘humanitarian print’ in Yemen.<\/div>\n
