{"id":17789,"date":"2021-04-30T23:43:43","date_gmt":"2021-04-30T23:43:43","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.projectmasam.com\/eng\/?page_id=17789"},"modified":"2026-04-05T17:54:35","modified_gmt":"2026-04-05T17:54:35","slug":"our-impact","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.projectmasam.com\/eng\/our-impact\/","title":{"rendered":"Our impact"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"wpb-content-wrapper\"><p>[vc_row][vc_column][vc_single_image image=&#8221;19141&#8243; img_size=&#8221;full&#8221;]<div class=\"ult-spacer spacer-69de1e3053181\" data-id=\"69de1e3053181\" data-height=\"20\" data-height-mobile=\"20\" data-height-tab=\"20\" data-height-tab-portrait=\"\" data-height-mobile-landscape=\"\" style=\"clear:both;display:block;\"><\/div>[vc_column_text css=&#8221;&#8221;]<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"511\" data-end=\"632\">Since its launch in July 2018, Project Masam has made measurable progress toward making Yemen safer for its people.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"634\" data-end=\"664\">Our project outputs include:<\/p>\n<ul data-start=\"665\" data-end=\"1091\">\n<li data-start=\"665\" data-end=\"780\">\n<p data-start=\"667\" data-end=\"780\">The rapid identification and clearance of landmines and explosive remnants of war (ERW) in liberated areas.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"781\" data-end=\"886\">\n<p data-start=\"783\" data-end=\"886\">The safe removal of improvised explosive devices (IEDs) from roads, farms, and residential zones.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"887\" data-end=\"1010\">\n<p data-start=\"889\" data-end=\"1010\">Technical and logistical support to the Yemen Executive Mine Action Centre (YEMAC) to strengthen national capacity.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"1011\" data-end=\"1091\">\n<p data-start=\"1013\" data-end=\"1091\">Community awareness campaigns to reduce risk and promote safe behaviour.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p data-start=\"1093\" data-end=\"1433\">To date, Project Masam teams have cleared hundreds of thousands of landmines, UXO, and IEDs, releasing millions of square metres of land for safe civilian use. These efforts have saved lives, enabled the return of displaced families, and helped communities reclaim farmland, rebuild infrastructure, and reopen vital public spaces.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1435\" data-end=\"1583\">Mine clearance also plays a key role in Yemen\u2019s post-conflict recovery. By clearing contaminated land, Project Masam has made it possible for:<\/p>\n<ul data-start=\"1584\" data-end=\"1929\">\n<li data-start=\"1584\" data-end=\"1655\">\n<p data-start=\"1586\" data-end=\"1655\">Development and reconstruction projects to move forward safely.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"1656\" data-end=\"1734\">\n<p data-start=\"1658\" data-end=\"1734\">Electricity and solar energy (PV) projects to be built and maintained.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"1735\" data-end=\"1833\">\n<p data-start=\"1737\" data-end=\"1833\">Healthcare centres, schools, and water infrastructure to be restored or newly constructed.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"1834\" data-end=\"1929\">\n<p data-start=\"1836\" data-end=\"1929\">Roads, tracks, and access routes to reopen, reconnecting isolated villages and markets.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p data-start=\"1931\" data-end=\"2098\">Every mine destroyed allows progress to take root &#8211;
