From the outset of 2018, the National Demining Program began its race to clear minefields in several Yemeni governorates.
17540 antipersonnel mines have been cleared, as well as 69489 antitank mines; 6570 IEDs have been defused, in addition to the collection and disposal of 188720 mines, as parts of the remnants of war.
In Aden, Lahij, Abyan and Taiz mines have claimed 814 civilian lives and caused 1775 injuries. Al-Jawf and Ma’rib also had their share of casualties, another 380 lives as well as 512 injuries were added to the casualties.
